Supporting teachers in Liberia: initiative launched with EU funded Regional Teachers Initiative for Africa (RTIA), the Ministry of Education in Liberia and Learning Scoop
Learning Scoop was honored to be chosen to carry out two development initiatives in Liberia, coordinated by Regional Teachers Initiative for Africa (RTIA) and funded by the European Union. The first initiative is technical assistance in Reform of Pre-Service Teacher Training Curricula to enhance gender-responsive pedagogy, green and digital skills and inclusive education. The second initiative focuses on Capacity Needs Assessment of the Rural Teacher Training Institutes in Liberia. The initiatives in Liberia take place until Spring 2026.
The EU funded Regional Teachers Initiative for Africa (RTIA) supports teacher education, professional development and working conditions across Sub-Saharan Africa, while Finnish National Agency for Education (EDUFI) coordinates the initiative in Finland. RTIA program aims to improve learning outcomes and the socio-emotional development of children in Africa, by having a more competent, motivated and inclusive teacher workforce in basic education. Learning Scoop is excited to contribute to this utmost important initiative!
