FinFest opened doors to new educational opportunities
Finland’s first and only education summit in Türkiye
Education systems in the world are being reshaped to adapt to the rapidly changing conditions of the 21st century. While models that are far from rote learning approaches and center on creativity and equality come to the fore, Finland, one of the leading countries of this transformation, brought its knowledge together with Türkiye’s dynamic education environment. FinFest 2025, organized with the support of the Embassy of Finland in Ankara and led by N.E.T Academy, created a multi-layered cooperation platform between the two countries in the fields of education, technology, science and culture.

FinFest 2025 was held at Social Sciences University of Ankara on November 2-3 and at Bahçeşehir University in Istanbul on November 7-8 blending the knowledge of Finnish experts with the experiences and cultural values of Turkish educators. The event brought together representatives of 20 different institutions and universities from Finland and more than 200 institutions from Turkey.

FinFest appealed to a wide range of educators: teachers and entrepreneurs, school administrators and students. Sessions included Teacher Training Seminars by Learning Scoop and Pedagogical Leadership Seminars to bring innovative perspectives to everyday schoolwork, MindFindr Career Planning Workshop for students and parents, Finnish Approach to Parenting, Creative Minds Workshop for children and Comparative Finnish-Turkish Education Panel.

Book “Finnish Education in Practice: What, Why and How” now available in Turkish language!
During the Ankara and Istanbul editions of FinFest, Learning Scoop´s teacher training programs, which are renowned for their expertise in the field of education, drew significant interest. Two of the authors of the book “Finnish Education in Practice: What, Why and How” Johanna Järvinen-Taubert and Jukka Miettunen attended FinFest in Ankara and Istanbul, Türkiye last week. Translated into Turkish by the founder of Net Academy, Aytuna Yamaç, and presented to the Turkish education community, this valuable work was launched in the presence of Hon Pirkko Hämäläinen, Finland´s Ambassador to Türkiye.

This book translates as “Finland Education Guide” and was gifted to all teacher training seminar participants who wished to learn about the Finnish education model from Finnish educators. A signing ceremony was held after the training. We would like to thank everyone for their high interest and support. The book is now available in English, Turkish and Romanian languages – stay tuned!

Hundreds of representatives from Finland and Türkiye participated in the event discussing and exploring Turkish-Finnish educational model. Hats off for the hard work Aytuna Yamaç and her whole team for arranging this 2-city event. Thank you everyone for your active participation and involvement. It was our pleasure to meet you and learn together. Keep up the great work shaping the future of education in Türkiye!
