UNDP project in Moldova in 2025–2026
Development and implementation of Training of Trainers on contemporary student-centred teaching and learning methods to facilitate the students’ autonomous motivation and the development of 21st century skills
Learning Scoop is carrying out the Training of Trainers on contemporary student-centred teaching and learning methods to facilitate the students’ autonomous motivation and the development of 21st century skills project in Moldova in 2025–2026. The project is part of a broader programme “Transforming education in Moldova through Model Schools” which forms part of a national effort led by UNDP to enhance the quality, equity, and effectiveness of Moldova’s education system.
The program focuses on strengthening teaching and learning practices to equip students with 21st-century skills. Learning Scoop will design and implement a comprehensive capacity-building initiative on contemporary, student-centred pedagogies. Activities include for example assessing teachers’ professional development needs, delivering a five-day Training of Trainers (ToT) on active learning approaches, and organizing a teacher training program for mathematics and science teachers from 15 Model Schools.
The project further involves designing a new in-service teacher training curriculum, facilitating follow-up mentoring and reflection sessions, and hosting a final national workshop to consolidate lessons learned and disseminate effective practices.
Ultimately, this initiative supports Moldova’s broader goal of modernizing its school network and improving student outcomes – particularly by promoting evidence-based, engaging, and inclusive pedagogies that enhance students’ autonomous motivation and readiness for future learning and life. Learning Scoop is excited to collaborate with UNDP Moldova and Moldavian educators!
