Dare to Learn in Romania
We had a privilege to participate in the Dare to Learn conference in Bucharest, Romania last week. Our pedagogical director Johanna Järvinen-Taubert was invited to attend a panel discussing the future of education and the role of technology in it. This was a great addition to our previous visit in May.
What an inspiring experience it was! Listening to global education super stars’ key note speeches like Sugata Mitra, discussing with enthusiastic and talented teachers and principals from Romania, and sharing experiences with colleagues gave us the opportunity to learn.
Moreover, we also had a chance to present LessonApp (available also in Romanian language!) during a Masterclass session and that brought a lot of interested people to our stand. Our representatives, Johanna and Satu Muja were busy explaining the features and benefits of LessonApp for interested visitors. In addition, the book by Learning Scoop called Finnish Education in Practice: What, Why and How (published in Romanian by Curtea Veche Publishing) raised a lot of interest and Johanna as one of the authors and editor was busy signing autographs. During the trip we also learned that there are not that many books left of the first print of 1000 copies of Finnish Education in Practice: What, Why and How in Romanian language!
