Leading Learning and Croatian researchers in Finland
This week we had a group of enthusiastic professionals from Crotia getting deeper insight into Finnish Education System and pedagogical leadership.
The work of principal was in focus when we visited and interviewed people in charge of day care center, basic education schools, high schools and vocational schools. The commitment of our leaders and (once again) the trust that we have in our whole school system impressed our visitors. At the same time, they wondered why we do not have systematic and required training for our principals in Finland. One course of laws and administration is not enough. Our leaders of learning are active and have found support and training for leadership work by themselves. The support of fellow workers and principals is very much needed and appreciated. Luckily we do not need to compete with each other’s.
Thank you for visiting us Daliborka Luketić (University of Zadar, Department of Pedagogy), Ana Marija Rogić (University of Zadar, Department of Pedagogy), Rahaela Varga (Faculty of Education), Josip Juraj Strossmayer University of Osijek), Morana Fudurić (Faculty of Economics and Business, University of Zagreb).
